1.Will my child be normal?

A child born with any disability cannot get over it.


2. What is the evaluation procedure?

Evaluation for the following areas is done through formaland informal assessment:


Physical (Fine motor, Gross motor and oral motor)




Toileting / Feeding / other basic ADL’s.


3.What is the student teacher ratio?

Pre-primary – 1:4

Primary – 1:6

Secondary – 1:5

Life Enrichment Centre – 1:5


4.Can my child do academics?

Evaluation results will decide whether your child can /cannot do academics.


5.What is NIOS?

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is an openschool which encourages flexibility and freedom in learning. NIOS acts as anational level Board of Education. The open schooling course of study of NIOShave the same standards & equivalence as the courses of study of other National& State level Board. Students have joined colleges after completing theirstudies. In NIOS examination, learners with disabilities are provided generalrelaxations and also the facility of amanuensis according to theirdisabilities.

Scheme of Studies: NIOS offers various subjects in variousmedium. Provisions have also been made for the students to opt for onevocational education subject along with academic subject. Little Angels NIOSSecondary Section offers the following subjects-English, Home Science, BusinessStudies, Word Processing as Academic subjects and Bakery & Confectionery asthe Vocational subject. Little Angels NIOS Senior Secondary Section offers thefollowing subjects-English, Home Science, Business Studies, Word Processing andMass Communication as Academic subjects

Scheme of Evaluation: Both Word Processing and BakeryConfectionery are out of 100 marks (60 Practical and 40 –Theory) For Secondaryexaminations, theory and practical are considered as one unit and you have topass in aggregate of the two. Hence, for appearing in a subject with practicalat Secondary level, you are required to appear in both theory and practical. Asa Senior Secondary learner, if you pass in practical but fail in the theory ofa subject, the practical marks will be retained and you can appear again intheory examination.



6.Can my child be included in the mainstream (normalschools) after completion?

The shifting of a child to the mainstream depends on theachieved level of the child at school.


7.Does the school have I.E.P.?

Yes, we do have Individualised Educational Programme.


8.Is the staff trained to handle my child?

Teachers are trained professional.


9.What are the modifications and accomodations for a childwith specific disability?

Changes in curriculum, supplementary aides or equipment andthe provision of specialized physical adaptations that allow students toparticipate in the educational environment to the fullest extent possible.Students may need this help to access subject matter to physically gain accessto the school or to meet their emotional needs. For e.g. if the assessmentdetermines that the student cannot write by hand because of a physicaldisability then we provide a computer for typing assignments, or allow thestudent to answer questions orally instead or planning a student who isseverely distracted by the normal activities in a large, busy classroom in asmaller classroom such as a resource room. We may modify a reading assignmentfor a student with reading difficulties by substituting a shorter, easier bookand student may receive both accommodations and modification.


10.Does my child need toilet training?

Toilet training begins at a very early age as it is one ofthe very important activity of daily living.


11.What program do we offer for Functional academics?

Functional academics include

Any area that helps the child function as independently aspossible.

Tying shoes

Going to the bathroom

Knowing appropriate behavior

Self feeding

Using a computer.


12.Is the curriculum at par with the normal school?

The curriculum is based on the National Institute of OpenSchooling (N.I.O.S)


13.What is the eligibility for NIOS?

The child should be 14years old to avail the admission forNIOS.
